Where I am Coming From

In my blog I may refer to a person being either:

Caucasian: White

Mongoloid: Yellow

Negroid: Black

This is not saying that one race is better or more intelligent than the other, I am merely stating a fact. People can be wholly from one race, or a mixture of the three race’s. For some reason that escapes me,White people do not mind being called ‘white’ (because that is what they are), Yellow people do not mind being called ‘yellow’ (because that is the colour of their skin), but for some reason Negroid (or black) people resent being called either ‘Negro or black’ (and that is what they are). Negro is just ‘black’ in Spanish. But that is their problem and not mine as I am not being offensive and not treating them any different from anyone else. I respect all people from all races until individuals from that race have shown that they are undeserving of my respect.

I may also refer to some ones religion, either as an individual or as a group. I am an Atheist so do not have any religious preference. This does not mean that I do not respect anyone else’s right to believe in any religion they wish. I may respect their right to believe in a religion, but this does not mean that I believe in or respect their religion. Just their right to believe in it.

My personal take on religion? I believe religion to be the most evil controlling device ever thought up by man. Religion fills a person full of guilt and fear, then offers them the only way out, providing they do as exactly as they are told without question. This gives tremendous power to priests over the masses. But thankfully due to the freely available information on the Internet plus our enlightened and well educated youth, people world wide are opting out of this archaic controlling belief system by the millions. Atheism is on the rise.

Homosexuals? I think nothing about homosexuals, they are just there like anyone else. I am not homophobic. To have a phobia means to fear something. I do not fear homosexuals although I choose not to have anything to do with them because I find them strange. I recognize their right to exist but I do not have to accept their ideology or life-style. I choose not to eat chocolate cake. Would this make me chocolate cake phobic? Of course not, the idea would be as ridiculous as it sounds.

My take on the sexes? In some cultures women (and men) have lost the respect that they once had, and I feel that is a shame. In some cultures women (and men) were (and still are) treated with little respect and no better than possessions or animals. And that was and still is a great shame. Do I think both sexes are equal? No! That is not to say that I think one sex is superior to the other. Women do some things better than men, and men do some things better than women. But in the end it seems to balance out okay.

That is it. If you choose to read any of my thoughts on my blog now, you will know from where I am coming from.

Pedophilia Within The Roman Catholic Church

Filed under: Freethought,History,Opinion,Our World,Religion,Uncategorized,World Events — Trevor Cowan @ 01:56

The Roman Catholic church must really hate the way and speed that uncensored information can be shared on the Internet these days.
On a daily basis we are getting reports of world wide coverups of pedophilia within the Roman Catholic church. Their holier than thou image has becomes more tarnish as more of the truth is made available from countries such as: Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and others.
I had a friend (now deceased) here in Australia who used to tell me of the horrors that him and other small boys went through at the hands (is that the correct word?) of some of these Roman Catholic priests.
The sad part is that many of these revelations have come too late for many of these children. We learn that these same rotten crimes against children are still being perpetrated by Roman Catholic priest today, and still covered up by some of the heads of the church. One can only imagine the damage to these small minds that have already been done by these self proclaimed virtuous monsters. Most of these children have no protection at all, and I would think it pointless for them to report it to someone that had possibly committed the same atrocities on helpless children themselves.
The Roman Catholic church rules through fear and brain washing. They first of all create a problem, then offer the only solution, provided you follow the dictates of the Roman Catholic church completely, and without question.
Thankfully in this enlightened age people are waking up to the the fanciful myths that keep changing to control the gullible.
No longer can the Roman Catholic church have me hung, drawn and quartered, or burnt at the stake (for my own good of course, to save my soul) and I suspect provide light entertainment for the clergy and the parishioners for speaking out against them.
I might go to Hell I here you say? Perish the thought! Hell would most probably be full of pedophile Roman Catholic priests.

The Five Permanent Members Of The UN Security Council

The five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. These five veto-wielding permanent members are China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and the United States Of America, along with another ten elected non-permanent members with two-year terms.
Now! Let us have a good look at this one sided set-up.
If the five permanent members want something passed all they need is a majority vote to have it passed. But! And her is the rub. If the other 14 members which would include four of the permanent member countries want something passed, it only takes the other one permanent member to ‘Veto’ the vote to have it defeated. (They really have it loaded their way don’t they)
Plus the five permanent members have the advantage of. You others are only here for a two year term, so you better not upset us. We on the other hand can do as we like because we are permanent and cannot be touched.
These five permanent members are the original ‘Atomic Bomb Club’, and this is what gave them all this power. So you do not have to be an Einstein to work out why they do not want any other country to get an atomic bomb as it would undo their strangle hold they have on the world.
They make much ado about North Korea getting an atomic bomb. Why? Because they know that they cannot control these countries.

Quote from http://www.rense.com/general26/bombs.htm “It is the first time a U.S. military institution has stated that Israel has produced a hydrogen bomb. The number of purported Israeli nuclear weapons cited in the report is double that of previous assessments.” Unquote.

Now why is it that we do not hear the UN or these five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council jumping up and down and threatening the Israelis?
They have known about Israel for years, but opted to keep quiet about it, because Israel is a friendly country, right?

Sorry UN along with your five permanent members, this will not do. If you want to make rules, make the same rules for everyone, or none at all. If you are really sincere about nuclear disarmament, lead by example and get rid of your bombs first and maybe other will follow, but I doubt it. Pandora’s box has already been opened, and there will be know putting the lid back on.

But this saying that our friends and us can have an atomic bomb to threaten you into submission, but you cannot have one to defend yourself has all of the Hall Marks of the typical school yard bully, and sooner or later school yard bullies usually get their just deserts.

P.S. Just for the record. I am not in favor of any country being nuclear armed.

The Perils Of Fast Foods

When I was a child I can remember tinned, packaged and dehydrated foods being advertised as ‘Emergency Foods’, something that would be ‘Handy’ to have in the cupboard in case ‘Unexpected Visitors’ arrived so you could whip up a ‘Quick Meal’ for them.
They were only recommended as ‘Emergency Foods’ because they had such harmful things such as preservatives, taste enhancers, food colorings, plus a many other strange ingredients that are too many to mention.
Unfortunately these ‘Emergency Foods’ have now become the ‘Usual’ food for many families, and we wonder why our children and ourselves are becoming ill. Is it any wonder if we are continually pumping these substances into our body every day.
We are told that there is not enough preservative (or some other substance) in a tin of ‘X’ to do us any harm, but when the same substance in that tin of ‘X’ is combined with a tin of ‘Y’ and a tin or packet of ‘Z’, then there is.
The Governments, food processors or retailers will not do anything about it because they are making too big of a profit out of it. (Their profits must come before your family’s health, right?)
The only way I can see around it is to either grow your own food, (where you are able) buy fresh from your local green-grocer or market. Doing this may create extra work, but the benefits are that your family will be healthier from eating natural foods, and you will save money into the bargain.
Tinned, packaged and dehydrated food has not been around all that long, and people used to manage quite well without them, plus we did not have so many unheard of or exotic diseases.
Do yourself and your family a big favor. Start cooking instead of just re-heating or buying fast food.

Global Warming / Climate Change

Filed under: Global Warming,History,Opinion,Our World,Philosophy,Politics — Trevor Cowan @ 20:07

Our scientists (well the majority of them anyway) tell us that our world is now entering what they call ‘A global warming period’. If this is indeed true (and the melting of the polar ice caps appear to support this) is there anything we can do about it? Nature is a powerful force to take on.

We are lead to believe that perhaps if we were to alter our life style enough, we may be able to halt it. I have vision of something like a huge steel ball. It would take a great deal of effort to get it in motion, but once in motion an enormous amount of force would be required to not only to stop it, but to roll it back again.

Our world leaders appear to think that the solution to the present global warming could be by throwing money at it.This money of course would be acquired through a carbon tax. In many cases this would mean that factories would still pump the same amount of carbon into the atmosphere, but they would have to pay the government money for the privilege of doing so. Is paying the government more money in a form of tax going to stop global warming? I think not.

An idea has been mooted that by taking carbon polluting petroleum burning automobiles off the road and replacing them with clean electrical automobiles could be part of the solution. Now! The world is in the midst of a water crisis already, and there are limited places where a hydro power station could be built. And not very quickly. So where to obtain the required electricity to re-charge the batteries on these electric cars? Not many countries are in favor of nuclear energy, so I guess that would leave coal fired power stations. But hold on a minute. Coal fired stations are serious carbon producers, isn’t that what we wanted to stop? Oh well! Back to the drawing board.

It appears that not enough of the major polluting countries are willing to seriously curtail their atmospheric polluting habits, and the under developed countries would find it difficult to do so. I feel that the only other course open to us is to adapt and learn how to live with the climate change, like mankind had to during the ice ages. I also feel that is where our money should be spent instead of chasing rainbows.

We have evidence that the world has experienced ‘Ice Ages’ in the past. Scientists have also found frozen seeds from ferns and trees and other tropical plants in the polar regions proving that those areas had been warmer at some stage. The world appears to be once again going through one of these natural cycles and there will be little that we can do about it.
