The Perils Of Fast Foods

When I was a child I can remember tinned, packaged and dehydrated foods being advertised as ‘Emergency Foods’, something that would be ‘Handy’ to have in the cupboard in case ‘Unexpected Visitors’ arrived so you could whip up a ‘Quick Meal’ for them.
They were only recommended as ‘Emergency Foods’ because they had such harmful things such as preservatives, taste enhancers, food colorings, plus a many other strange ingredients that are too many to mention.
Unfortunately these ‘Emergency Foods’ have now become the ‘Usual’ food for many families, and we wonder why our children and ourselves are becoming ill. Is it any wonder if we are continually pumping these substances into our body every day.
We are told that there is not enough preservative (or some other substance) in a tin of ‘X’ to do us any harm, but when the same substance in that tin of ‘X’ is combined with a tin of ‘Y’ and a tin or packet of ‘Z’, then there is.
The Governments, food processors or retailers will not do anything about it because they are making too big of a profit out of it. (Their profits must come before your family’s health, right?)
The only way I can see around it is to either grow your own food, (where you are able) buy fresh from your local green-grocer or market. Doing this may create extra work, but the benefits are that your family will be healthier from eating natural foods, and you will save money into the bargain.
Tinned, packaged and dehydrated food has not been around all that long, and people used to manage quite well without them, plus we did not have so many unheard of or exotic diseases.
Do yourself and your family a big favor. Start cooking instead of just re-heating or buying fast food.
