The five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. These five veto-wielding permanent members are China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and the United States Of America, along with another ten elected non-permanent members with two-year terms.
Now! Let us have a good look at this one sided set-up.
If the five permanent members want something passed all they need is a majority vote to have it passed. But! And her is the rub. If the other 14 members which would include four of the permanent member countries want something passed, it only takes the other one permanent member to ‘Veto’ the vote to have it defeated. (They really have it loaded their way don’t they)
Plus the five permanent members have the advantage of. You others are only here for a two year term, so you better not upset us. We on the other hand can do as we like because we are permanent and cannot be touched.
These five permanent members are the original ‘Atomic Bomb Club’, and this is what gave them all this power. So you do not have to be an Einstein to work out why they do not want any other country to get an atomic bomb as it would undo their strangle hold they have on the world.
They make much ado about North Korea getting an atomic bomb. Why? Because they know that they cannot control these countries.

Now why is it that we do not hear the UN or these five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council jumping up and down and threatening the Israelis?
They have known about Israel for years, but opted to keep quiet about it, because Israel is a friendly country, right?
Sorry UN along with your five permanent members, this will not do. If you want to make rules, make the same rules for everyone, or none at all. If you are really sincere about nuclear disarmament, lead by example and get rid of your bombs first and maybe other will follow, but I doubt it. Pandora’s box has already been opened, and there will be know putting the lid back on.
But this saying that our friends and us can have an atomic bomb to threaten you into submission, but you cannot have one to defend yourself has all of the Hall Marks of the typical school yard bully, and sooner or later school yard bullies usually get their just deserts.
